BlackHawk Products Group, the leader in tactical gear for law enforcement and military personnel is proud to announce BlackHawk Armor, LLC, a new division dedicated to developing a broad range of innovative personal protective ballistic armor to meet the demanding needs of Special Forces and Tactical teams. BlackHawk Armor’s new products have been designed specifically for those who find themselves in high-threat environments and will enhance the existing line of tactical products from BlackHawk Products Group. BlackHawk Armor’s initial product offerings include ballistic vests, ballistic rifle plates, and ballistic helmets, tested to NIJ 05 ballistic and U.S. Military 662F frag standards and to provide maximum survivability for the operator.
“The decision to venture into body armor really was more like a natural transition,” Mike Noell, President and CEO of BlackHawk explained. “We have been in the carrier business for awhile and with the new patent pending Cutaway vest carriers, it seemed a natural progression to supply the best possible armor for our carriers.”
The new Level 3A ballistic soft panels will be sold with the BlackHawk S.T.R.I.K.E. Cutaway Vests along with a compliment of optional ballistic accessories such as, throat, collar, shoulder, groin, and bicep. BlackHawk Armor products will provide operators with the opportunity to reconfigure their vests dependant upon their mission or threat. Providing greater coverage, BlackHawk Armor is tested to 3A NIJ 0101.04 and 05 interim compliance as well as tested to U.S. Military 662F standards. The panels incorporate a combination of proven woven and laminated aramid fabrics backed with a patented material specifically designed to minimize blunt trauma (back face deformation). In addition to providing soft armor, BlackHawk Armor will offer Rifle Strike Plates in two sizes, 8.75” x 11.75” and a 9.5” x 12.5” with a level 4 “stand-alone” side accessory plate. The multi-curved Rifle Strike plates have tested to threat level 4 protection as a “stand-alone” plate and, ESAPI, the only standard that tests for multi-hits on the same plate. Made of a proprietary ceramic material, the BlackHawk Armor Rifle Strike Plates for high threat situations can be worn in conjunction with soft armor or alone.
